When Coreen Cordova Jewelry started eight years ago, it was just Coreen. Within the first year she found her invaluable workshop manager, Ramon, in Taxco, Mexico. Together, they developed their workshop and made big plans for the future!
Coreen managed the US portion of her business on her own for several years until she finally realized she could probably use a little help! Tesia began working with Coreen in 2004, and each year, as the business continued to grow, we added more staff to our wonderful team. Our Mexico staff has surpassed all expectations as well – we now have over 20 people working for us there!
We all came to Coreen with different educational and experiential qualifications. Collectively we have experience in: graphic design, photography, jewelry production and design, office administration, marketing, accounting, psychology, personal organization, and all kinds of computer programs. We all do a little bit of everything, but we each have our areas of expertise as well.
Because this is such a unique and versatile line, customer service is of the utmost importance. We all work very hard to help each of our customers understand and achieve all the possibilities of the line. It is truly fulfilling to talk to store-owners or sales associates that really understand and are excited about Coreen Cordova Jewelry!
In addition to our US staffed studio, we have our workshop in Mexico – run by our treasured manager Ramon. He has a highly skilled staff of silversmiths who do all of the beautiful silver work that you see in our jewelry. Each feather on our Indian with Feathers is carefully cut out by hand. Every chain is shaped and soldered by hand. Each individual pendant is carefully bezeled by hand with Coreen’s signature hook. No piece of Coreen Cordova jewelry leaves this studio without passing through many hands to make it the work of art that it becomes. See the images for examples of our wax casting and silver braiding - just two of the many tasks that are so skillfully done in our Mexico workshop.

Before the pieces can be sent to Mexico, we have to acquire the “raw goods”. In addition to Coreen’s passionate search for rare and beautiful pieces from around the world, she is also constantly envisioning new designs. We have several trusted vendors that help make her visions a reality. They carve, scrimshaw and paint – sending us sample after sample until the piece is just right. Each item, once paired with a silver bezel and Coreen’s signature hook, makes an incredible piece of jewelry! |
